Other infrastructure will be provided on request. An extensive inventory of test instruments and suppression components is maintained.
The lab is accredited per the European EMC Directive as well as according to the Automotive EMC Laboratory Accreditation Program (AEMCLAP) and world-wide acknowledged.
Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC) with unique field homogeneity up to 3 GHz in LAB IV, Unterleinleiter Site
With this fully anechoic test chamber EMCCons DR. RAŠEK
succeeded with a performance significantly better then required
according to EN/IEC 61000-4-3. The complete
frequency range up to 3 GHz is covered by only one wideband antenna
installed at 3 meter distance to the calibrated field plane as required
by the spec, resulting in reduced test time. For radiated emission measurements the FAC also meets the site attenuation requirements for reflection-free (free space) sites according to CISPR 16-1-4 clause 5.8 in the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz and CISPR 16-1-4 clause 8 in the range 1 GHz to 18 GHz.
The latest absorber technology and the chamber geometry
together with a flush mounted turntable give far enough room for
test samples.
The necessity for this high-tech anechoic chamber arose from
the extended demand for radiated susceptibility tests above 2 GHz,
e.g. within the 2.4 GHz ISM band used by RF-ID transmitters and
the UMTS cellphone band VII, i.e. 2.5 - 2.69 GHz, as well as
from the extended demand for radiated emissions tests above 1
GHz, e.g. according to the new IEC/CISPR22 and EN55022.
The standard EN/IEC 61000-6-x versions mandatory since 2008 require
testing in the extended frequency range including
the 1.4 GHz to 2.7 GHz range.
The current standards IEC/CISPR22 and EN55022:2006+A1:2007
require radiated emission testing on a reflection-free test site
(free-space environment)
up to 6 GHz.
10 m Semi-Anechoic Chamber in LAB IV, Unterleinleiter Site
The 10 m Semi-Anechoic Chamber (SAC) located in Unterleinleiter
allows fully compliant radiated emission and susceptibility tests
also for large and heavy equipment. Radiated emission measurement above a ground plane can be performed at 3 m and 10 m test distance respectively, in the frequency range 30 MHz to 1 GHz.
With additional removable floor absorbers fully compliant free-space radiated emissions tests at 3 m test distance can be performed in the frequency range 1 GHz to 18 GHz. These floor absorbers are also available for fully compliant radiated immunity tests according to EN/IEC 61000-4-3. The complete frequency range up to 3 GHz is covered by only one wideband antenna.
The SAC is equipped with broadband antennas, a motorized antenna mast and a flush mounted turntable. The antenna can be raised to any height in the range of 1 to 4 meters above the ground plane. The antenna mast is equipped with rollers to allow for adjustment of the distance between EUT and antenna. The antenna mast and the flush mounted metal turntable are remotely controlled. Power supply cables for the EUT and cables to support equipment are fed through the turntable below the groundplane. Power supply filters are designed for 250/440VAC/63A/50/60Hz and 115/200V/32A/400Hz. The SAC is equipped with a turntable of 4 m diameter designed for a weight of up to 5 t and accepts equipment and vehicles up to 2.5 m x 2.5 m x 6 m. Roller test bench, pneumatic pressure supplies, provisions for air inflow and gas exhaust for vehicle tests, water supplies and drainage are available. Feed-through panels with EMCC standard dimensions are available for customer specific equipment supply/monitoring/surveillance.
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK's 10 m SAC is listed by FCC to VCCI for 3 m and 10 m measurements and meets the EN, IEC/CISPR, OET 55, ANSI-C 63.4 and VDE 0877 attenuation limits.
40 m sheltered test range in LAB II, Moggast Site
EMCC DR. RAŠEK has built a unique sheltered 40 m test range. The 3 & 10 meter OATS with a weather proof enclosure is located on the top floor under the roof of a 40 m diameter building (more precisely: a 16 angle polygonal shaped building). The lower floor is equipped with shielded rooms, anechoic rooms, a mode-stirrer room and some RF laboratories and offices. The building is located on a slope; therefore both floors can be reached flush to the earth. The roof of this building is a pyramidal wooden construction. The building is equipped with 4 m / 3 m doors and a hydraulic underfloor elevator. The radiated emissions test area of the site is located on the top floor in the obstruction free area. On the same floor on two sides of the building there are office rooms and shielded test rooms. The walls of the neighbouring office and shielded rooms are lined with hybrid absorbers. The floor of the OATS is equipped with a ground plane. The ground floor itself is of steel reinforced concrete. The OATS is equipped with broadband antennas, a motorized antenna mast and a flush mounted turntable. The antenna can be raised to any height in the range of 1 to 4 meters above the ground plane. The antenna mast is equipped with rollers to allow for adjustment of the distance between EUT and antenna. The flush mounted metal turntable is remotely controlled. Power supply cables for the EUT and cables to support equipment are fed through the turntable to the lower floor below the groundplane. The ground plane is designed for machine and vehicle dimensions of up to 12 m x 4 m, maximum height of 3 m and weight of up to 75 tons. The ground floor is easy of access via 4 m / 3 m doors and loading capacity is 75 tons, too.
The laboratory building was designed by EMCComp DR. RAŠEK and all architectural services including specialized experience are available to interested parties.
EMCC's Reverberation Chamber System in LAB II, Moggast Site
After
gaining experience in the field of microwave resonant chambers,
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK's R&D constructed a new reverberation chamber.
The reverberation chamber is an installation for testing radiated emissions and radiated susceptibility, generally in the frequency ranges from 400 MHz to 18 GHz. The system operates as a microwave resonator (similar to a microwave oven) with the resonant frequencies distributed continuously across the defined frequency range. For immunity tests, electromagnetic field is generated by an RF system with the power generator sweeping across the frequency range. For emission tests, a receive antenna connected to an EMI receiver picks up the radiated signals. The geometric pattern of the field's resonance peaks within the reverberation chamber is altered by a large rotating metallic paddle, called the "Mode Stirrer".
