History

Founder: Dipl.-Ing. Dr.-techn. Werner G. Rašek

Even while still a student at the Technical University in Vienna in the 1960s, our Austrian-born founder Dr. Werner G. Rašek made an intensive study of high-frequency and communications engineering and realised that electromagnetic influences would in future become one of the most important topics and areas of research in almost all industries of interest, all over the world. On completion of his doctorate (for which he received the distinction of ‘summa cum laude’) he devoted himself to this topic in his first years of employment with a major research and development company.

His spirit of innovation and his interest in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and related subject areas motivated him in 1977 to venture into self-employment as the world’s first publicly appointed and sworn consultant for electrical interference. As a specialist and consultant he has advised manufacturers worldwide on ground-breaking projects as well as courts in cases of disputes or insurance events.

The ‘DR. RAŠEK Consulting Engineers’ office he established quickly became an internationally recognised expert in all matters of EMI, EMC and radio. From that time onwards Dr Rašek assisted his clients both at their premises and from his own office in Moggast, Franconia - he became known on the scene as the ‘Pope of EMC’. As the mentor and ‘spiritus rector’ of EMC he built up and trained his own team of employees himself. In this tradition, through seminars, diploma theses and dissertations EMCC DR. RAŠEK has raised a generation of EMC specialists and enthusiasts who today form an international EMC ‘community’. Today the EMCC companies remain pioneers and leaders in their field.

For Dr Rašek, now a medium-sized company leader, self-employment, independence and control were always, along with technical perfection, the main deciding factors of what he did, and these remain fundamental elements of our business ethics and QM system today. Today EMCC continues, as a medium-sized, independent family business, to be run privately, so ensuring neutrality, absolute reliability and the highest level of project confidentiality for our customers. Neither manufacturers, investors nor authorities can affect our activities, and so we can meet the highest demands of our customers - and our own - in accordance with the EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

As experienced and innovative pioneers, the EMCC teams offer their customers flexibility, competence and creativity - both at the consulting stage and in the early product and system development stages, performing all tests relating to EMC, radio and environmental simulation and electrical safety, through to product certification.

Success story

In 1977 Dr Rašek and his wife Eva Rašek set up their engineering consultancy business as a two-person show. At that time most of the work consisted in providing expertise for courts as well as seminars and development consulting.

Because of the increasing technological sophistication of the products and systems and the rapid globalisation of the markets, the EMCC DR. RAŠEK quickly gained global importance and has been growing ever since it was founded. Today the EMCC DR. RAŠEK includes three companies and over 100 employees:
