Unique EMC Test Facilities
In Moggast EMCC DR. RAŠEK owns four buildings with laboratories and offices across some 10,000 square meters of private land. For Military & Avionics EMC testing there are several shielded rooms and anechoic chambers (FAC, SAC).
A unique TRAPEZOIDAL anechoic test chamber is used for high performance radiated immunity tests as well as for emissions tests.
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK performs tests according to just about all EMC specifications on avionics and military equipment.
Avionics and military equipment benchtop testing.
Avionics and military equipment is exposed to a rough electromagnetic environment.
Stringent electromagnetic requirements apply to the qualification before flight or integration into service.
Various tests concerning emission and susceptibility investigations need to be performed.
The huge variety of tests according to just about all specifications in the field of activity is one of the core
competences of EMCCons DR. RAŠEK.
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK labs perform all EMP tests.
Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Tests. Lightning as well as Nuclear Explosions cause strong electromagnetic
pulse fields: Lightning Electromagnetic Pulse LEMP and Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse NEMP, respectively.
Safety critical avionics and military equipment and components must be tested to various specifications
proving appropriate hardening against EMP threats. Aircraft to road vehicle bodies are increasingly made of plastics instead of metal. A real lightning problem has come up with the substitution of metal hulls with carbon, as protection by the Faraday Cage was lost and lightning induced currents are flowing across cables and electronics: close to all LEMP tests show "positive" results. The photo shows LEMP test on a sensor cable loom.
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK high voltage lab has sophisticated test facilities for lightning strike tests.
Direct Lightning Strike - Direct and Indirect Effect Tests. The former Faraday cage protection against
lightning strike is no longer maintained in modern aircraft fuselage which increasingly is made of carbon fiber
instead of metal. In addition, air safety is required during any weather conditions including thunderstorm and
is not secured without passed tests on indirect and direct lightning strike effects. The direct effect of
lightning strike is critical to flight and shall be simulated on externally mounted equipment.
The photo shows a door module of the new AIRBUS A 380 in a horizontal set-up being tested on indirect
strike effects at the EMCCons DR. RAŠEK high voltage lab in Moggast.
At the left above is one of EMCC's Pulse generators, generating the lightning strike current; the various test
instruments around are to analyzing the effects to the module and its electronics.
EMCCons DR. RAŠEK has the equipment to perform HIRF tests with the highest possible levels.
HIRF & HPM Testing. EMCCons DR. RAŠEK developed a new HIRF & HPM Simulator for test levels of more than
40,000 Volts per meter at a test distance of 1.5 meters. Thus RADAR susceptibility tests - essential for safety critical systems aboard vehicles or aircraft - can be performed with PM (pulse modulation) test levels of more than 100,000 Volts per meter and CW test levels of more than 2,000 Volts per meter. With low gain antennas for a big illumination area more than 6,000 Volts per meter can be achieved.
For more information on HIRF and HPM please visit our HIRF page.
The lab is DATech accredited for all relevant Military standards including VG, MIL, RTCA, GAM, SAE standards and world-wide acknowledged.
Please visit our Aircraft Testing page for information and photographs concerning on-site testing of aircraft EMC.
EMCC DR. RAŠEK offers a complete turn-key service.
The facility and decades of RF/EMI/RFI/EMC staff experience are open to EMCC
DR. RAŠEK clients. Using the fully equipped workshop, EMC problems can
be fixed immediately during the investigation, thus avoiding the need for
repeated tests.
