UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed)

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that has to be used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) replacing the CE marking after Brexit. It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking.

For Northern Ireland the CE marking is still sufficient. However, products marked with UKCA require either a CE marking or the new UK(NI) mark before they may be placed on the market in Northern Ireland.

The UKCA marking can be used from 1 January 2021, since the transition period after Brexit ends. To allow businesses time to adjust, the CE mark may still be used until 1 January 2023 in cases where EU and UK requirements remain the same. In some cases the UKCA marking will be needed immediately from 1 January 2021 in order to access the market in Great Britain.

Starting with the introduction of the UKCA mark on 01 Jan 2021 in Great Britain, the UKCA mark will not be accepted by authorities of the European Union.
