EMC Testing and Environmental Simulation Testing for the Automotive Industry

As e-mobility advances, requirements for components or complete systems become increasingly complex. In our laboratories for EMC measurement, environmental simulation and electrical safety, we support manufacturers and their suppliers from the automotive industry with comprehensive advice and testing during the product development.

EMC Tests for the Automotive Industry

There are numerous absorber rooms available in our EMC laboratory for EMC tests on components. Larger devices or vehicles can be tested in our large absorber hall or on our open area test site for up to 300 m measuring distance. We would also be pleased to perform EMC measurements on your vehicle on-site at your premises, worldwide - EMCC on-site testing, worldwide.

In addition to the EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, EMCC was the first European testing laboratory which became accredited by A2LA (USA) for the automotive sector according to the formerly authoritative programs “Automotive EMC Laboratory Accreditation Program (AEMCLAP)” and “Automotive EMC Laboratory Recognition Program (AEMCLRP)”. Both programs have since been replaced by the recognition procedure of the new OEM EMC Recognition Process, according to whose relevant specifications the EMCC laboratories are accredited.

Technical Service of the "Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt" - EC Type Approval for Motor Vehicles - E1 Mark

For motor vehicles as a complete system, their components and independent technical units for them, type approvals with regard to their general safety (General Safety Regulation - GSR) are required in accordance with regulation (EC) 661/2009. The approval marks are supplemented with a country code for labeling, for example for Germany: “E1”. The “E1” type approval is issued by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA)). EMCC is a technical service recognized by the KBA according to EU Directive 2007/46/EC category A and D for, among other things, UN-ECE R10 and offers its customers tests on all road vehicles as well as on components and retrofits.
