EMC Testing for the Railway Industry – Environmental Simulation for the Railway Industry

The "Adler" was the first commercially used locomotive for rail transport of passengers and goods to operate in Germany. It made its debut in 1835, travelling between Nuremberg and Fürth in Bavaria, close to the EMCC headquarters. Since then, a completely independent and highly innovative industry for rail vehicles and the associated infrastructure has developed.

The increasing complexity of vehicles and the entire technology is leading to constantly growing challenges and increasing demands on the technical function and safety of components, systems and even entire vehicles.

EMCC provides accredited testing services and certification for EMC, radio, electrical safety and environmental simulation for manufacturers and suppliers in compliance with the relevant standards of the railway industry.

EMC Tests for the Railway Industry

EMCC is a test laboratory accredited to EN ISO/IEC 17025, we conduct EMC tests on mechanical, electromechanical and electronic components and systems for railroad applications that are recognized both by the German Federal Railway Authority (EBA - Eisenbahn-Bundesamt) and internationally. We also support clients in research projects. This includes preparation of individual test plans, performing project-specific tests, and developing measuring devices.

Advice on EMC Testing Services and Accredited EMC Tests According to All Relevant Standards and Specifications for the Railway Industry

Examples of EMC measurements in the field of railroad applications (railway equipment) include electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing: emissions of the whole railway system to the outside world, emissions and immunity of signalling and telecommunications apparatus, emissions and immunity of fixed power supply installations and apparatus, etc.
