EMC, Radio, Electrical Safety, and Environmental Simulation Testing for Commercial Vehicles

EMC, Radio, Electrical Safety, and Environmental Simulation Testing for Commercial Vehicles

Motorbikes, lorries, agricultural machines, and other commercial vehicles are becoming increasingly complex in nature. As a result, it is more difficult to ensure reliable and safe operation of all the components, systems, and vehicles as a whole.

Moreover, OEMs must incorporate highly sophisticated devices such as control units, GPS and radar systems. They also frequently deploy state-of-the-art materials such as carbon fibre.

EMCC can provide expert assistance for commercial vehicle manufacturers and their component suppliers – if required, during the development process. Our offering includes end-to-end consulting, testing and certification services across multiple areas – EMC, environmental simulation, electrical safety, and radio.

Accredited consulting and testing to all automotive industry standards and directives – and

Our services cover the standards and specifications of:

BMW, Chrysler, Daimler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, PSA Peugeot-Citroën, Renault, SAAB, Smart, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, and many more.

As well as being EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited, EMCC was the first European EMC testing laboratory to gain A2LA accreditation for automotive-industry applications. The organization has additionally secured OEM-specific EMC recognition. Ford and GM have also approved our labs for a variety of testing services.

Furthermore, EMCC was the first European test lab to be recognised by Jaguar Land Rover for EMC tests to their latest JLR-EMC-CS standard.

We also offer consulting and testing to international standards such as ISO, CISPR, SAE, and many others. For more information, see here.

EC type-approval for road vehicles (E1 mark)

The EC 661/2009 General Safety Regulation requires type-approval for road vehicles, their components and separate technical units. In Germany, EC type-approval marks are issued by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). The mark consists of the letter E and a number – indicating the country. Germany, for example, is 1.

The KBA has recognised EMCC as a category A and D service provider according to the 2007/46/EC directive. This enables us to perform tests to UNECE R10 standards. We offer our customers consulting, testing and modifications to resolve EMI issues in all road vehicles, components and retrofits.
