EMC, Environmental Simulation, Radio and Electrical Safety testing for Automotive

People have always looked for quicker and more efficient ways of getting from A to B. This natural desire has been a driving force behind the highly creative and innovative automotive industry.

As road vehicles are becoming more complex, manufacturers face a growing variety of challenges. Components and systems must perform to higher standards, and often combine multiple functions. Moreover, OEMs must incorporate highly sophisticated devices, such as electric windows, and GPS and radar systems. Moreover, they frequently deploy state-of-the-art materials, such as carbon fibre.

EMCC supports manufacturers and their suppliers, if requested during product development, with comprehensive consultations on testing services as well as the performance of testing services in the areas of EMC, radio, electrical safety and environmental simulation.

Tests according to CISPR, EN, IEC, ISO, SAE standards as well as manufacturer specifications of the automotive industry

List of standards in the accredited area, see DAkkS D-PL-12067-01-02 and A2LA Cert. No. 2032.01

As well as being EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited, EMCC was the first European testing laboratory to gain A2LA accreditation under the Automotive EMC Laboratory Accreditation Program (AEMCLAP) and the Automotive EMC Laboratory Recognition Program (AEMCLRP). Both have since been superseded by OEM-specific EMC recognition processes – for which our services and labs have also secured accreditation.

EMC testing for E-Mobility

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) must be integrated into product development and design at an early stage. This applies especially to the area e-mobility. We offer EMC testing to following standards:

EC type-approval for road vehicles (E1 mark)

The Regulation (EC) 661/2009 requires type-approval for road vehicles, their components and separate technical units. In Germany, EC type-approval marks are issued by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). The mark consists of the letter E and a number – indicating the country. For Germany, for example: „E1“.

EMCC is a category A and D technical service approved by the KBA in accordance with EU Directive 2007/46/EC for, among other things, UN-ECE R10 and offers its customers tests on all road vehicles as well as on components and retrofits.
